With the new NHL season beginning in January, the Montreal Canadiens have a lot questions about their starting lineup on offense.
After the Montreal Canadiens’ virtual trouncing of the Cheap Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys in last season’s qualifying round of the NHL’s ‘playoff bubble’, the Habs’ first round series versus the Cheap Philadelphia Flyers Jerseys didn’t go as smoothly as they hoped. They got eliminated in six games. Throughout most of the series, the Canadiens found themselves falling into the same usual trap that had been plaguing them all season, letting in early goals and resorting to playing catchup all game.
The Flyers managed to play a sound and airtight defense, outworking, and shutting down Montreal’s smaller and faster forwards. Ultimately, when push came to shove, the Canadiens were getting bounced around with the Flyers managing to take liberties on the smaller Habs players.
However, the Canadiens put up an admirable effort after being the 24th ranked team in the NHL. They saw big steps taken by young centers Cheap Jesperi Kotkaniemi Jersey (4PTS, 10GP) and Cheap Nick Suzuki Jersey (7PTS, 10GP), consistent play from their top forwards in Cheap Tomas Tatar Jersey, Cheap Phillip Danault Jersey, and Cheap Brendan Gallagher Jersey, and significant improvement from an injury plagued Cheap Jonathan Drouin Jersey (7PTS, 10GP).
The Cheap Montreal Canadiens Jerseys have joined the rest of the league in these last-minute signings, with Michael Frolik joining the team on a one-year deal.
There was talk around that Marc Bergevin wasn’t done adding to the Montreal Canadiens roster. Cheap Jake Allen Jersey, Cheap Josh Anderson Jersey, Cheap Tyler Toffoli Jersey and Cheap Joel Edmundson Jersey were the big acquisitions of the summer, but it’s roster depth that helps you in the playoffs, and it looks as if Bergevin is confident this team can go far. And hence we have the Habs signing Michael Frolik to a one-year deal worth $700,000.
Frolik is a left-winger who started his NHL career with the Cheap Florida Panthers Jerseys after being taken 10th overall by them in the 2006 NHL Draft before moving on to Chicago. He also spent the majority of his NHL career in Western Canada, mostly playing for the Calgary Flames and the Winnipeg Jets. His latest season was a 19-game stint with the Cheap Buffalo Sabres Jerseys putting up a goal and three assists in 4 games after the trade deadline.
The 27-year-old has generally been a middle-six forward throughout his career. His two-way play is reliable to an extent as he is a streaky scorer. Frolik can go on a run of goals then disappear from the scoreboard for long stretches. However, he is a responsible player, and his speed isn’t talked about enough.
On the surface, Frolik looks to be a player who can fill in on the fourth line, but he also looks like a player destined to be on the taxi squad. Training camp will answer those questions.
Claude Julien could see a lot of value in a player who can slot in up and down the lineup. Again, his inconsistencies in scoring are one thing, though; being in a position where he won’t be relied on to score should be a positive.
Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin decided that with his current core finally beginning to hit its stride, their problems highlighted in the first round needed to be addressed and took the steps necessary for the team to reach the next level.
On draft night, he went and trade F Cheap Max Domi Jersey for power forward Josh Anderson and then inked unrestricted free agent F Tyler Toffoli on Thanksgiving Day. These key acquisitions have provided Habs’ HC Claude Julien with several options in the lineup along with last year’s forward group.
